Driving Data Projects

I was honoured to receive a review copy of Driving Data Projects from Christine Haskell. I absolutely love reading works by polymaths who can weave prescriptive project delivery frameworks with higher-order considerations and human factors.

There are lots of books out there that describe how to execute a data project from a technical perspective, a few that do so through a business lens, but almost none that do both along with wonderful off-roads into the humanities. Without the foundation that provides, we can get stuck in our thinking and not be able to adapt to different organizational cultures.

I particularly liked that she isn’t afraid to challenge orthodoxy, helps the reader place maturity models in perspective, and calls out organizations that abuse data to support their intuition.

I would strongly recommend this as a resource to anybody in data and analytics, in particular groups and individuals looking to mature their data practice and for students  – thanks again Christine for the chance to learn from you!
